Tony Kanaan Indy woes

To say that Tony Kanaan has had a rough month in the Indy Racing League would be an understatement. The No. 11 driver for Andretti Green Racing has endured both broken ribs and fire over the last few races, taking a significant drop in standings points along with his plunge from the frontline, but there’s still hope for the native Brazilian to regain his footing, especially with the upcoming SunTrust Indy Challenge, of which he is the reigning champion.
Kanaan currently sits in seventh place overall in the league behind Ryan Briscoe, Scott Dixon, Dario Franchitti, Helio Castroneves, Danica Patrick and Dan Wheldon, respectively, but will he continue to make a move up the standings points totem pole? Judging from his season so far in 2009, anything could be possible.
Tony Kanaan started the IndyCar season off right in April, snagging a fifth-place finish at St. Petersburg (my buddy over at movers Roswell Ga went to this race) and two consecutive third-place finishes at Long Beach and Kansas, setting him up in first place in standings points going into Indianapolis.
It was here that the troubles for this mild-tempered open-wheel racecar driver started up, however, as the Continue reading

Safety – Indy Car Racing

Indy Car Racing is an amazing experience and a lot of people love this pastime. But you should also need to know that this sport is both dangerous and rewarding. Safety is a concern in this sports and we will talk a little bit about it here. You will learn about the history of this series a little bit, but safety will be the main topic of this article. There is also a safety system called SAFER that we will touch a little bit on here, so you should read on to find out more about this interesting topic.
Driver Safety

Safety in Indy Car Racing is an important point of concern. This is because a huge amount of drivers that have been injured, and this situation occurred mostly in the early years of this series. In fact, there have been 5 fatal crashes in the past. The fact is that this series has less margin for errors that other series, as It has banked turns and long straights. My buddy that owns gutter cleaning Johns Creek actually saw a crash live in person one year, traumatic experience. In addition, there is a lack of run-offs on any oval track here, and this is also coupled with high speeds. The chassis of cars that participate in the series has been re-designed.

IndyCar was truly the first series to use the SAFER soft-wall safety system, which has also been used in major oval racing circuits out there. Both the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Hulman-George family were the major supporters of this system´s design and research. This sport has inherent dangers that racers will have to face on a daily basis, so there is a lot of safety features to be Continue reading

Indianapolis 500 Party

A successful Indianapolis 500 party will definitely require a lot of arrangements and for that reason you have to be sure that every thing is in a perfect order. For this party, you need to see as to how much of a budget you have. If you have a limited budget then this party can be arranged at home, but if you have a strong budget then this can be arranged as an outdoor party, with lots of fun and excitement.

Race The Cars

With arranging the Indianapolis 500 Party as an outdoor event, you can get a race track for a few hours where you can do a race. For this event you can rent out the cars as well and it would be really good if you hire a professional who can schedule all this for you. The cars can be rented according to my friend at roofer Roswell by the number of the individuals who want to participate in the race. The laps for the race can be set according to the budget you can come up with. The participants must be informed about the rules of the race and must wear all the protective gear that is needed and provided by the race track owners. The participants who will win the race will be known as the champ of the Indianapolis 500. You can add this exciting event as an Indianapolis 500 Party Game.

Wear A Hat Game

In this Indianapolis 500 Party Game, the participants have to run to a table where there would be hats placed, the number of the hats would be one less in number compared to the number of the players. The players are going to run to the table when the checkered flag is dropped and wear the hats, there would be one person who is going to be left without the hat who Continue reading
